Favourite Doctor Who Quotes
Jan. 2nd, 2012 09:35 pmI have been rewatching series six of Doctor Who of late and forgot how many amazing quotes there are in this show. So tell me flist- what are your favourite quotes? Any era, new or old, RTD or Moffat etc is welcome.
Some of mine under cut:
Forest of The Dead:
Donna Noble: How about you, are you alright?
The Doctor: Oh, I'm always all right.
Donna Noble: Is "All right" special time-lord code for... not really all right at all?
The Doctor: Why?
Donna Noble: Because I'm alright too.
[last lines]
River Song: [voice-over] Some days are special. Some days are so, so blessed. Some days, nobody dies at all.
[the Doctor walks up to the TARDIS, hesitates, snaps his fingers, and the doors open for the first time via this method]
River Song: Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair and the doctor comes to call...
[the Doctor walks into the TARDIS, grabs Donna Noble's hand, snaps the fingers of his other hand, the doors close; cut to River Song closing her diary]
River Song: ... everybody lives.
The Beast Below
Amy Pond: What if you were really old, and really kind and lonely, your whole race dead. What couldn't you do then? If you were that old, and that kind, and the very last of your kind, you couldn't just stand there and watch children cry.
Vincent and The Doctor
Vincent Van Gogh: It seems to me there's so much more to the world then the average eye is allowed to see. I believe, if you look hard, there are more wonders in this universe then you could ever have dreamt of.
The Doctor: You don't have to tell me.
Amy Pond: You do have a plan, don't you?
The Doctor: No, I have a thing. It's like a plan, but with more greatness.
Amy Pond: We didn't make a difference at all.
The Doctor: I wouldn't say that. The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. Hey.
[hugs Amy]
The Doctor: The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice-versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant
The Big Bang (or the most perfect finale of anything ever)
The Doctor: All the people who never lived. Your *girlfriend* isn't more important than the whole universe
Rory: [Swinging The Doctor around and punching him on the jaw] She is to me!
The Doctor: [Stepping out of the TARDIS] Hello everyone. I'm Amy's Imaginary Friend!
The Doctor: [Walks over to the top table, and shakes Augustus by the hand] But I came anyway!
The Doctor: [last words to sleeping Amelia Pond] It's funny, I thought, if you could hear me, I could hang on, somehow. Silly me. Silly old Doctor. When you wake up, you'll have a mum and dad, and you won't even remember me. Well, you'll remember me a little. I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK: we're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know, it was the best: a daft old man, who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you I stole it? Well, I borrowed it; I was always going to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you'll dream about that box. It'll never leave you. Big and little at the same time, brand-new and ancient, and the bluest blue, ever. And the times we had, eh? Would've had. Never had. In your dreams, they'll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond... and the days that never came.
The Doctor's Wife (Or Neil Gaiman is God)
Idris: Doctor. Are you there? It's so very dark in here.
The Doctor: I'm here. Hey.
Idris: I've been looking for a word. A big, complicated word, but so sad. I found it now.
The Doctor: What word?
Idris: "Alive." I'm alive.
The Doctor: Alive isn't sad.
Idris: It's sad when it's over. I'll always be here. But this is when we talked. And now even that has come to an end.
Idris: There's something I didn't get to say to you.
The Doctor: Goodbye.
Idris: No. I just wanted to say, Hello. Hello Doctor. It's so very very nice to meet you.
The Doctor: Please. I don't want you to.
Idris: I love you.
A Good Man Goes to War
Rory: I have a message and a question. A message from the Doctor and a question from me. Where is my wife?
The Doctor: You think I wanted this? I didn't do this! This wasn't me!
River: This was exactly you. All this. All of it. You make them so afraid. When you began all those years ago, sailing off to see the Universe, did you ever think you'd become this? The man who can turn an army around at the mention of his name. "Doctor." The word for healer and wise man throughout the Universe. We get that word from you, you know. If you carry on the way you are, what might that word come to mean? To the people of the Gamma Forests, the word Doctor means "Mighty Warrior." How far you've come. And now they've taken a child. The child of your best friends. And they're going to turn her into a weapon just to bring you down. And all this, my love, in fear of you.
The Wedding of River Song
The Doctor: Amy and Rory. The Last Centurion and The Girl Who Waited. However dark it got, I'd turn around an there they'd be. If it's time to go, remember what you're leaving. Remember the best. My friends have always been the best of me.
River: I've been sending out a message. A distress call. Outside the bubble of our time. The universe is still turning and I've sent a message everywhere. To the future and the past, the beginning and the end of everything. "The Doctor is dying. Please, please help."
The sky is full of a million million voices, saying, "Yes of course. We'll help." You've touched so many lives, saved so many people. Did you think when you're time came you'd really have to do more than just ask? You've decided that the universe is better of without you. But the universe doesn't agree.
The Doctor: And you are forgiven. Always and completely forgiven.
The Doctor: it's the only way. Then they can all forget me. I got too big, Dorium. Too noisy. Time to step back into the shadows.
Dorium: And Doctor Song, in prison all her days?
The Doctor: Her days, yes. And her nights... well. That's between her and me, eh?
The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe
Doctor: "What's the point of them being happy now if they're going to be sad later? The answer is, of course, because they're going to be sad later."

Oooooh, i love:
The Doctor: A forest in a bottle on a spaceship in a maze. Are you impressed yet Amy Pond?
*
River: Everybody knows that everybody dies, and nobody knows it like the Docotr. But i do think that all the skies in all the worlds might turn dark if he ever accepts it.
*
Vincent: Look at the sky. It's not dark and black and without character. The black is, in fact deep blue. And over there: lighter blue and blowing through the blues and blackness the winds swirling through the air and then shining, burning, bursting through: the stars! And you see how they roar their light. Everywhere we look, the complex magic of nature blazes before our eyes.

This whole scene:
River: Did you dance? Well you always dance at weddings, don't you.
The Doctor: You tell me.
River: Spoilers.
The Doctor: The writing's all back but I didn't peek.
River: Thank you.
The Doctor: Are you married, River?
River: Are you asking?
The Doctor: Yes.
River: Yes.
The Doctor: No. Hang on. Did you think I was asking you to marry me or asking if you were married?
River: Yes.
The Doctor: No, but was that yes or yes?
River: Yes.
The Doctor: River. Who are you?
River: You're going to find out very soon now. And I'm sorry. But that's when everything changes.
Perhaps everything that River has said, lol! Too many funny and emotional scenes between her and the Doctor to list!
