Dear People who think it is ok to continue to put down the astoundingly original Helena Bonham Carter with cruel and hurtful insults every time she goes to an event,

Repeat after me:

Helena Bonham Carter is cooler than you will ever be. Helena Bonham Carter is cooler than you will ever be. Helena Bonham Carter is cooler than you will ever be.

Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton are not the anti Christ of fashion just because you say they are. Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton are not the anti Christ of fashion just because you say they are. Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton are not the anti Christ of fashion just because you say they are.

In fact, I know many, MANY, people who would kill to pull off what Helena does (I also know my fair share of people who think Tim is hot just the way he is.) In fact, many would call Helena choosing her own style this strange thing called "being an individual." Last time I checked, most people thought individuality was a good thing.

If people seriously think Angelina deserved best dressed with her dress, I reserve the right to believe there is something wrong with you BECAUSE SURPRISE SURPRISE NOT EVERYONE LIKES THE SAME THING AND HAS THE SAME OPINION AS YOU. PERSONALLY I THINK HELENA LOOKED HOT AND I WANT HER HAT LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE AND HER MORGAN LE FAY HAIR EXTENSIONS LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE. Mismatched shoes? It didn't necessarily look amazing and I certainly wouldn't try it but by jove, I sure as Hell respect Helena for trying. Also, since when did Vivienne Westwood attire become unfashionable and a dirty word? Vivienne Westwood is a very respected fashion designer and just because YOU don't like her stuff doesn't mean plenty of others don't AKA me and Helena and all the people that keep Ms Westwood in with a job.

FASHION IS SUBJECTIVE AND JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE SOMETHING DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN GO AROUND FLINGING INSULTS AND MAKING ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT A PERSON'S PERSONAL LIFE AND/OR THE AMOUNT OF INFLUENCE THEIR PARTNER HAS ON THEM.

I happen to love what Helena wears, now, in recent years more so than ever. I love her individuality, her daring, her eccentricity, her almost haute couture choices that mix and match to crazy effect, but most of all I love the way that her clothes reflect herself. Isn't that what fashion ought to be about?

Yours respectfully,

Dweomeroflight

Now for my favourite Helena red carpet pics that deserve to be on a best dressed list in my humble opinion:

HP Premiere DH P1

The King's Speech Premiere

The British Independant Film Awards

BAFTA's (Enid)

Sweeney Todd Interview:

ps world: I happen to own a waist corset and a normal corset and have been known to wear both in public places. One of my best friends wears miniture top hats as hair accessories. Enlighten me... why is there a problem with this? I also happen to love 80's fashion too but that's ok because that's "in"... what do I do when its out world? QUICK SELL ALL OF MY FAVOURITE CLOTHES BECAUSE A MAGAZINE TELLS ME TO DO IT. I GET YOU.

AMEN TO ALL THAT. I personally wouldn't wear what she does, but I like that she's daring enough to do it, and is able to pull it off fairly well for the most part. YAY FOR INDIVIDUALITY!

I wouldn't try her red carpet looks either (except for the Enid look because I lovett and have a waist corset like it!!!) but DAMN you gotta respect her for trying it out and frankly I think she looks hot most of the time. Also, her girly Goth look exhibited in more casual interviews and pap pics... HECK YES I WILL IMITATE THIS... on occassion I have been known to do so. In fact, I probably will this week when I go to see King's Speech. I like how she wears lots of lace and 19th century inspired stuff and lots of accessories. I certainly don't copy Helena, but I do sometimes dress in a similar style and I like that I can do that.

YAY FOR INDIVIDUALITY TIMES TWO.

I dress like I'm living out in the country most of the time. As in gumboots, overize sweaters, and toques. I look like I've stepped out of a logging camp. LOL. But who cares, really? Half of the fashionable clothing is FAR too expensive, and really, really impractical.

I love all of her dresses. And her shoes at Golden Globes!

Oh Helena. Never ever change. The second you do I will be forced to assume Hollywood has managed to clone you into a mindless cyborg and I would mourn the loss greatly.

I love it when she wears her Mrs Lovett bloomers/gloves/whatever other parts of her costume she kept and also that interview where she wears a pink and black corsetish top with like three skirts and five hundred necklaces :P

This sentence fills me with the happies :P

HBC: COOLER THAN THE WORLD. Take that bitches ;)

I fill like she and Matt are in the same bonkers but brilliant catogary. I do hope she eventually guest stars like Matt hoped :P

I'd be happy to see them work together on anything really. I'd like to see Matt in a Tim Burton film with Helena, that would rock, he'd be brilliant in something Burtonesque. ♥ :D

I agree. I think they would bounce off each other well :)

Oh God, I want this to happen now; Matt's perfect face lit by Burton, and unleashing his natural eccentricity on a script. DO WANT. Hnnng.

Well said. ;) I really like Helena's individuality and dislike the 'fashion police' with a passion.

I actually like Helena more for her quirky brand of eccentricity than I do for her actual acting :P I think she is a great role model for women :)
