dweomeroflightOMG YOU GUYZ... I LOVED DOCTOR WHO. BEST EPISODE OF THE SEASON AFTER GAIMAN'S THE DOCTOR'S WIFE.
I loved how sci fi this episode was and that despite that this episode was all about the characters. Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill were so amazing and Matt as a devestatingly sad and guilt ridden Eleven broke my heart.
Fifty years on Amy was a shock at first but I think they did everything really well in terms of aging. I also thought Karen stole the show having to play two Amy's at once!!! (WHY DO I HAVE NO AMY ICONS???? SOMEONE LINK ME!)
One of the things I love about this series is that Rory and Amy really do love each other and that's shown in the episodes. I cried when Amy told us about the Macarena, her first kiss with Rory, and the ordinary people who you realise are beautiful in time. I also cried when OldAmy was trying to break into the TARDIS and she knows she will fade away and she still tells Rory to let her go.
And the awful thing about this is: this is partially The Doctor's fault and he knows it and yet the fall out sits with Amy and Rory. Poor Rory. Wasn't 2000 years as the Roman Centurion enough? No. Now he has to choose wives in a seemingly impossible moral choice. Rory broke my heart. And Amy? She gets to remember her other self... with the single haunting remark of "where is she?"
Oh Doctor. "You're making me like you." Rory and Amy are so going to want out and then my poor heart will triple break.
Did I mention I love TEAM TARDIS and Moffat's Who???
Spooks 10.1. To quote Big Town All Stars: "That was er, um, well... rather good... wasn't it?" Low expectations. I haz em. They help.
I will be blunt. Spooks really lost me last series with Jucas. My expectations are so low, I made myself a lisence to mock. Which is why with 10.1 I spent my whole time focussing on the pretty and ignoring everything else.
So Tariq still has no lines? Bah- that's what fic is for! So Callum reminds me of Adam, except even more young and annoyingly smug. Screw him. He'll probably die or be a traitor anyway. So Ruth didn't get to do much? Yeah well she got to be off the Grid in EVENING ATTIRE. So Sasha as the son was so obvious I thought it had been revealed in text before the actual reveal... a minor quibble. I have my priorities sorted.
Haha world. As if Harry wouldn't get away with the Albany thing somehow. I'm pretty sure Harry could shoot everyone on The Grid in a spate of inexplicable rage and still the writer's would call him the hero.
HA LARA EFFING PULVER IS A GOD. She decommissioned Beth because she was a dodgy mercenary. Wow. This girl is sensible. Keep her on Harry!!! Also, she is competant (tells arrogant Callum off and shoots bad man dead). ALSO SHE HAS A FAMILY AND A LIFE. Memories. Remember when everyone did in s1 and 2? *nostalgia*
Dimitri was looking mighty fine this episode with his James Bond look AND LOTS OF SMILES. Even if he did fail at picking up Erin.
Harry and Ruth in evening attire. Ah!!! I knew the writers would give in and read the fic eventually. AND LOL ASHES TO ASHES MOMENT WITH MAMA BEAR.
Harry's old flame is pretty with her red hair. She can stay :)
Ruth is so gorgeous this episode. Also, HAHA AT HER AND THE HOME SEC. Underappreciated? Since like s2 guys.
Next week's episode: no idea of what is going on but I WILL WATCH FOR THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE.

I didn't actually see the plot twist about Sasha coming (shame on me!) but I loved the way it was set up to be a close family drama almost with the relationships of this family and Harry and Ruth having profound consequences for the state(s) - very Greek tragedy-esque as it's meant to be.
And Harry and Ruth in formal wear... yessss :P
And Dmitri suddenly looking very good!
I'd read some bad things about Lara Pulver, but I thought she was a great character!

a) literally, I mean, she was running around and there was not one hair out of place. And a) even with point a taken into account it was still amazing and if it was the colour of Elena's then I would be flailing.Ahh well, it was a nice opener and the Ruth/Harry scenes were sweet!no subject

It has come to my attention that you are a most excellent French asset on our books. I realise that the current Grid members seem to exist in a perennial state of borderline debunkment to East Enders but I have therefore seen fit to grant you your very own lisence to mock.
I myself find this place quite ludicrous (between you and me, me and my daughter are in fact working for the Taliban but the Tribunal missed that somehow in the files... I spelt it out for them as a test... I guess they failed it.) Anyway, I'm being nice to Harry for now until I can find my way into my own spin off show where I can lose the lot of them, shoot shark boy for being a git and have Ruth as my "taking over the world" secretary. But enough of that.
I would like to communicate with you the plotline for the rest of this series. The Russians are a front. It's actually all a ploy by Simon Russell Beale's Home Sec to get Ruth into bed with him and the Russian red haired bird is there as Harry's commisseration and a jealousy wedge. I am sworn to secrecy. Harry must never know.
Your lisence to mock will arrive soon and I expect you to use it at every opportunity... also write fic. Lots of it. In amazing leaps of logic that defy canon, wit and reason. And I must be gun toting. Always. Also, get that Ros chick back. I liked her. Maybe chuck in Beth. I only decommissioned her to keep those bloody writers happy.

Erin, on the other hand, is brand new and they won't have the time to mess her up in only six episodes. Therefore, she'll probably be made of win until the end, and then we'll have the rest of our lives to write great fic about her. So let's focus on Erin, and if the Harry and Ruth storyline ends up well, I'll have the joy of re-watching the episodes and enjoy my H/R feelings. For the moment, I'm watching this with as little emotional involvement as possible. See, I already planned it all. ;)

"The Moff" seems to be doing his level best to destroy the Doctor's reputation with those closest to him. The Doc has been shown to be sneaky before, but this is something else again.

Karen and the babes were all wonderful though, soooo good and perfect and amazing. All three of them are so talented, and god how I wish I could see Arthur in Doctor Faustus! Alas, it's too late for me now :(
I can't comment on Spooks, as I still need to watch that someday. Later though, because too much current tv airing now, and also stuff on my tv, like Silent Witness which has Emilia Fox as Nikki <3

I know but he was cute in his efforts, right? And they did look rather lovely together. I said in my review how this is how my Ros/Lucas obsession started - seeing the two of them together in 7.5 and thinking 'Ooh, they look pretty together!' and then coming up with actually quite logical reason as to why they should be together for real. I'm working on the logical reasons here - give me another couple of episode ;)
