Doctor Who Review: The God Complex

dweomeroflightIN WHICH I DO SQUEE MUCHLY. BECAUSE I LIKED IT ALOT. AGAIN.
Can I just say first off, I love myths and legends, and especially Greek ones. SO YAY MINOTAUR.
Ahem. Anyway, so the narration at the start with the police woman Laura... was that meant to mirror Amy in TEH? It was the first thing I thought of.
Team TARDIS start off on a Hotel stairwell. Interesting. Then they bump in reception into three people who are lost themselves. Clever parallel to the Team. I love the guy from Little Britain's role and the quote "we planted trees along the roads to make it shady and pleasant for invading forces" or something like that and someone replied with, "nice for them" I lol'd. Also, even though that guy stuffed up and was a coward, Eleven didn't condemn him forever and ever and ever like Ten would have done. Ten judged so hard, Eleven just feels old and sad and tired.
Matt Smith's expressions get me every single time. They're great! Love when he tells Amy she's fired!
Everyone has their own room of fear. I wonder what Rory's would have been? Amy's is going back to that little girl waiting for The Doctor to come back and The Doctor's is the cloister bells and presumably himself, but what is Rory's fear?
Creepy head bobbing dolls are creepy. "Praise him." Also, majorly creepy. AHHH WEEPING ANGELS. Toby Whithouse... thanks to you children will never ever sleep in hotels ever again. (Also Toby for head writer when Moff leaves!)
"Why do we need you to save us? That's some serious God Complex you've got there." TAKE THAT TEN. TAKE THAT LONELY GOD TROPE. GET OUT AND STAY OUT.
The Minotaur doesn't feed on fear, he feeds on people's faith in something to save them from fear... religion, supersition, and even faith in other people... Wow! That is a really interesting concept! "Your faith in me. That's what brought us here." Nice tie in to the running theme of Rory and fear of turning into "him" ie The Doctor.
OMG NO NO NO NO NO NO. NO. NO NO. Amy can't stop believing in The Doctor. The girl who waited. Waiting no more. Oh God. I cried. "I stole your childhood and now I've led you by the hand to your death. But the worst thing is I knew. I knew this would happen. This is what always happens. Forget your faith in me. I took you with me because I was vain. Because I wanted to be adored. Look at you, glorious Pond. The Girl Who Waited for me. I'm not a hero. I really am just a madman in a box. And it's time we say each other as we really are. Amy Williams. It's time to stop waiting." God. That killed me. Hello tears.
When Amy said "It didn't want just me. So you must believe in some God or someone or it would have shown you the door too. So what do Time Lords pray to?" I was very intrigued in that particular answer. What do Time Lords have faith in? Especially if they're the last of their kind?
"An ancient creature, drenched in the blood of the innocents. Drifting in space through an endless shifting maze. Such a creature, death would be a gift. Then accept it. And sleep well." OMG it's you Doctor. The Minotaur is talking about you. EEEK!
OH. MY. GOD. IS THIS THE END FOR RORY AND AMY? OH GOD. NO MORE WILL I EVER USE THE KAREN AND THE BABES TAG. OH GOD. OH SHOW. WHY? WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME? *Clings frantically to Rule No. 1: The Doctor lies.
"Rory: What happened? What's he doing?
Amy: He's saving us."
The Boy who Waited with The Girl who Waited... together properly at last. But is this the end?
Oh God Santa Moff. Please say it isn't so. YOU CAN'T DENY ME THAT INTREPID TRIO. YOU CAN'T DENY ME MORE OF THEIR CONFIDENTIAL ANTICS.

Date: 2011-09-26 10:07 am (UTC)I'm gonna miss the three of them soooo much *sniff* But hey, it appears Matt doing shenanigans isn't over at least (well, the man is liked by like everyone, in and out of character, so not surprising he'd find someone else to mess around with when the other two aren't there XD), because I hear the confidential for this weeks - Closing Time - ep is rather fabulous. I mean, the previews alone are hilarious XD
THAT VIDEO IS SO PRECIOUS <3 I love how shocked Matt gets when Karen dare compare them to Scissor Sisters Xd And Arthur, so seriously playing the piano while the other two sing and goof around ^^ There's this other vid, where Matt interviews Karen (with a spoon T_T' ) and Arthur's sitting a few feet away just staring at them, all the way through, and it's hilarious XD

I loved David Walliams, and that bit from the Apprentice was brilliant! ("with regret, you're fired")
Also, Closing Time is a great episode!
Oh and Spooks 10.2 is much better than 10.1 IMO
