Because I have to admit, I wasn't sure what to think myself. I mean, yes, I loved it because timey wimey wibbley wobbley times infinity, and River being young an so River-y, and Amy being a bamf and scones and texting *giggles* and scruffy Eleven and Eleven in a toga which made me laugh because I had been listening to the hair song from Hair and there's a line that just works perfectly *laughs* and the wedding which was a thing of beauty because it showed that Eleven took the final step and really trusted River - he let her in on her plan and then he asked her to help him and then, when she was no longer out of the loop and let in on his secret, then she agreed and oh how I love it <3

Yes, I do think Amy and Rory and Meldoy is sad, but then, River's story was always sad. And however screwed up, it does work out in the end, and Amy and Rory are just happy she's safe at last despite her not so fun upbringing and and - she has two mothers <3 Amy and the TARDIS and I just. I can't.

Also, Myfanwy, HELLO THERE, HELLO well, fine, maybe not really, but it was in my head!canon, so there :P

You are allowed to find a newspaper, roll it up, and virtually swat me over the head with it because of my never wavering optimism *grins* I'm sure it can be very annoying sometimes, but hey, I like people to shout "I LOVED IT!" at me rather than "I HATE IT OMG MOFFAT IS HORRIBLE D:", not because I don't respect their opinion, but because I have a tendency to start overthinking it and negativity affects my opinions, well, negatively and so I'd rather have happy squees and enthusiastic flailing thrown my way. So I'm doing that to you in case you're the same, and not because I'm trying to rope you in to the other side or something - I do respect your opinions. Whatever they may be on this other than "OMG CONFUSED MOFFAT *shakes fist*" XD

Also, glad to hear your thoughts on Nicola being a God Damned Goddess has only been further cemented - it's always lovely when ones rolemodel/favorite actress ever/idol keep proving how awesome they are <3

Hey, did you see that vide of Karen on the trampoline? SO ADORABLE I CAN'T <3 Even when she got scolded for it, just so cute. She is so young and childish despite being such a great actress and so good at her job, and that kind of makes me like her more because, well. It just does :P Also, she so spends too much time with the boys XD

IT WAS A THING OF MAGNIFICENT BEAUTY WHICH MAKES ME FEEL A WHOLE LOT BETTER ABOUT BOTH THE FINALE AND SERIES SIX. SO MUCH META GOODNESS, SO MANY CLEVER PARALLELS. OH SANTA MOFF. WHY SO SANTA?

Hey- when have I ever been Moff is horrible eh? I've always liked him better than RTD and even when I criticised LKH I said it was still better than most of RTD era Who lol. I think the series five finale was more complete, more satisfying and tied in with my love for story telling and friendship as power and mad man with a box better, but that's not to say this series was a waste. There's lots to love. I reserve judgement on TWORS until after a rewatch.

I know right? She's soooo good at writing that stuff I can't even :D I've seen other people reference her meta aswell, to those who were not sure what to think, and goodness, I saw the major amount of comments she got so I can only imagine a lot of people were directed her way *laughs* And yesss, he's put so much stuff in there it's almost difficult to notice it all! It's like that saying, uhm, can't see the trees for the forest? Or some such. XD But you kind of miss the details a bit because you're too focused on the big picture and the major stuff going on (general you there, not you-you XD). Oh, I'm gonna love re-watching it again, and especially together with s5 *bounces giddily* :D

Oh, no, I didn't mean you! I mean people who don't like it in general and are downright negative, and I mean in a bashing or rather angry sort of way. Obviously you're not one of those people ^^

And I know what you mean. Though at the time, TBB confused me like you wouldn't believe and I was all "OMG I DON'T GET IT WHAT WAS THE ANSWER HOW DOES THIS ALL WORK OMG MOFFAT WHAT?!" XD But yeah, it was sort of more complete. And I do think it helped that it was a two parter. But then, this was quite magnificent too, and he should be applauded for how he managed to get all that stuff in there and still got it to be fairly coherent and working, despite the confusion and wtf-feelings it has caused a lot of people (myself included of course :P). I think a re-watch is probably good though. I think we'll pick up on lots then that we didn't before. I'm having mine around mid Decemeber or Christmas myself (when I've bought the DVD :D). '

The more I think about this, the more I think;

a) THE SIZE OF MOFF'S BALLS
and
b) I THINK I LIKE IT!

The Moff makes me think about the nature of The Doctor and his companions and what it means to tell stories and be human far more than RTD ever did (because he was interested in different aspects of The Doctor) and these themes really appeal to me.

I think series six was overall uneven, but incredibly brave and potentially incredibly rewarding.

tbh I don't get it much either - as far as i get it:
Doctor - gonna die - goes into robot thing - goes to die - River rips time whatever - gets married only so she looks in his eyes - everything does back so all that was an AU world that they remember... Doctor fades into the back and still the question has to be asked.

I know get it thanks to the above meta rec... I reccomend it highly! Made me appreciate the episode alot more! I still think as a finale it had issues but not in a 'oh gosh waste of time' kind of way that I was borderline thinking before.

MY BRACELETS ARRIVED TODAY FROM LUCY WHICH MEANS I CAN NOW OFFICIALLY "ROCK ON" WITH NICOLA AND THE BABES (ie you ;)) My squee was great!

re Nicola:
1. She remembers me after ten months, and despite only meeting me once
2. She gets excited about me liking Doctor Who. SQUEEE NICOLA. ME AND DOCTOR WHO. WE ARE TIED AT THE HIP. *IS SO GLAD NICOLA LIKES IT TOO*
3. She answers Lucy's and my interview questions with thought :)
4. She manages to get Peter to resign my non existent spooks dvd in record time which means I now will have it soon YAY!!! (Only 7 months too late. Stupid competition and production company. bah)
5. She signs my Doctor Who booklet, adorably right across her own interview (ah Nicola- I may have wanted to read that again ;))

ALL GOOD REASONS FOR ME TO CONCLUDE SHE IS A GOD DAMNED GODDESS.

Glad the meta helped you out! I'll admit my initial reaction to the finale was kinda ambivalent, and I think overall this season has been a lot more uneven than season five. I think it's got great big holes in it that can't really be handwaved. But then, what it does well it does so amazingly well and in ways that only Moffat can, so I think overall I'm happy to just concentrate on the happy and let the rest be <3

I'm with you on the uneveness of s6. I think that overall what Moff is trying to say about The Doctor is incredibly rewarding though and I am enjoying this kind of story much better than RTD era so I am content.

I'm just going to be sad when Amy and Rory aren't part of Team TARDIS anymore next season. Esp. because I have really come to adore Rory. *is SO HAPPY we finally have a male companion who isn't just a throw away character* He was SO BAD FUCKING ASS as Commando!Rory... I want to keep that Rory always.

The themes of who is the doctor? what does he mean? what is his purpose? and is he justified? are so interesting to me.

Moff is interested in the same themes I am as a writer I think... basically what it means to be human and what it means to tell stories. How do histories and truths happen? And is the greater truth sometimes more important than the more factual, smaller ones? And why do these truths matter? It's all about the power of stories of words...
