I've been insisting Nicola Walker should be involved in some capacity with Dr Who for ages. She's apparently the lead female voice in the next Dr Who audio adventure according to her unoffical website!!! I think I will explode with fannish happiness! Now if only The Moff could get her into an actual episode... :P

ps: On the topic of New Who, I started listening to the free Guardian radio play read by Matt Smith and Claire Corbett today and it rocks this city!

Oh Eleventy. I love you. Can't wait for the end of April. SERIES SIX. GUYS. SERIES SIX.

The radio play is The Hounds of Artemis and the Nicola one is a Big Finnish one with Sylvester McCoy :)

I appreciate the offer but I already snagged The Hounds of Artemis off of lj://user/audiobooks/

Haven't had the chance to listen to it yet though. I also snagged The Jade Pyramid off either that one of theaudiolibrary...i forget which.

I was very happy to hear this news too.

Just want to point out that this isn't going to be New Who, but Old Who. She'll be working alongside the Seventh Doctor.

It would be fantastic if Nicola could be cast to star in a New Who ep. I would love that very much.

I know that I just meant I've wanted her to be involved with the whole thing for awhile :)

Sure did. Two days ago :) I love listening to Matt read. As soon as they announced him I knew he was just perfect for The Doctor. He absolutely is "my Doctor." I only wish both HBC and NW coiuld get parts in New Who before he leaves :) Matt has said he wants to work with HBC!

Yay, glad they got there okay. :)

I have never really been a Doctor Who fan (apart from when I was little and we all watched it as a family at tea time on Saturday!), but I really like Matt Smith. Love his quirkiness! I can see why you like him in the role. Would love to see NW guest star in it, of course!

Matthew Graham has written an episode for the new season, which will also guest star Marshall Lancaster, so I will definitely tune in for that one. ;)

Thanks for sending them :) Really appreciate it!

I've loved Dr Who since I was a little kid and my Dad scared the crap out of me by renting out the old dodgy who episodes on video from the library. I still remember this random who episode in black and white where the companion was in this temple place and a dalek came up and was about to kill her.

Series five was the best of New Who in my opinion. I have a meta essay on why I love Dr Who so much here though:

Basically I love how much it's this epic fairystory adventure centred around an eccentric alien and a blue telephone box. I mean really? How did that become so successful?

I love Matt and his weirdness. There's this really hilarious dr who confidential for series five where Karen Gillan and Matt Smith are humming the theme tune together and robot dancing. What else have you seen Matt in? I absolutely loved him and his cheekyness when I first saw him in Ruby In The Smoke- a film I saw long before he was announced as The Next Doctor.

MARSHALL LANCASTER. NO WAY SHOW. NO WAY.

This makes me want to do a series five rewatch now ready for April 2nd. The time will go faster that way ;)

You're very welcome! :)

Lol! Well, when you put it like that....

I think it appeals to all ages, and that is a very key factor. Families can watch it, and it still feels original, rather 'out there' and adventurous. I do recall that I really enjoyed the Catherine Tate episodes that I saw.

I've not seen Matt in anything else, but have watched him being interviewed several times, and he's just so quirky and rather adorable. ;)

Haha I was joking. I freaking love Dr Who and everything about it and thank God for the mad man and his box :P

Watch this. Seriously. Possibly the funniest moment I have seen between two actors ever.

The whole thing isn't on YT but bloody hell I thought Christmas had come early... on the blooming confidential no less NOT EVEN IN THE DAMNED EPISODE.
