Dr Who: Day of the Moon

Lots of thoughts under the cut and who has River Song spinning around with awesome gun icons? May I have one pretty please (credited of course). It is my bday this week (bats eyelids sweetly).



- The beginning confused me so much. WHA WHY IS CANTON BAD? I liked the body bag thing and the Amy/Canton conversation
- I love Rory. He is awesome ok? Even when he has his eyes shut tight against bullets.
- I have no expletives left for River. She is BAMF. In her hot evening dress (which by the way has someone written the fic of what the frik she was doing in the last couple of months to be in an evening dress? I need to read it)
- Bearded Doctor is strange and I don't really like it lol. Oooh clever Canton though with the sealed up room to keep The Silence out. AND YAY TARDIS CATCHES RIVER YAY. SWIMMING POOL. WET HAIRED RIVER IS HOT. GAH. DAMN IT. WHY AM I SO GAY FOR RIVER?
- The orphanage is absolutely terrifying as is its owner. He reminds me of the assylum owner in Sweeney Todd. I wonder if it is the same actor?
- Blood on the wall. Oh. God. My little Who pal is gonna be SO scarred for life by this.
- Amy seperates. Ok. You know what I like about Amy. She does her own thing, she makes her own decisions, she's pretty independant when she is out on adventure. I like it a lot.
- The Silence are terrifying, like absolutely terrifying. In the ceiling. And what is with Cyborg lady? Is she real or a Silence construct? And what's with Amy and a baby and little girl pics? Is the little girl Amy? or River? Or a Time Lady? Or as my Mum speculated THE MASTER? Now wouldn't that be damned creepy!
- Amy is a good screamer
- Tee hee. River in 60's attire is amusing. So is Rory in glasses. More. Also, I love The Doctor and his twirling.
- Wow this is heart wrenching. Amy's terrified ramblings through the red blipping thing is so sad. I nearlly cried. And when Rory says The Doctor has to save her and The Doctor's face is all aged like he's seen it all before and just... amazing acting.
- I knew Amy was talking about Rory. I knew it. After The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang how could she not. 2000 YEARS PEOPLE. 2000. Rory is no Mickey. Thank goodness.
- Hmmm, don't know if I like how The Doctor deals with the Silence but this story ain't over so I reserve judgement for now.
- River is gun totting awesome. So much sexual tension and LOL AT THE DOCTOR AND HIS QUOTE ABOUT "This is my friend River; crazy hair, smart, oh and doesn't mind shooting things, unlike me. Shouldn't like that, kind of do." And then back to back sexual tension ramps up like woah. *Dies*
- "It's a screwdriver. Build a cabinet."
- OH MY GOD. DID THIS HAPPEN? I LOVE YOU SANTA MOFF. RIVER SWIRLS AROUND AND TAKES THOSE PESKY SILENCE DOWN AND GOD I LOVE HER FOREVER. Also loving these Rory/River convo's (although I was a bit confused last week when Amy explained River to Rory. Hadn't he already known her from last series finale?) tee hee at "so which Doctor are you?"
"Archaeologist." BANG.
My brother interjects with "SHE IS SO A TIME LORD."
- Rory realises Amy was talking about him which is phew.
- River/Doctor shipping ramps up. I scream out loudly at the Tv "MAKE OUT MAKE OUT" AND THE TV OBEYS ME AND THEY KISS. THEY KISS OH GOD MOFF. My heart broke at River's shocked face. You are amazing Alex Kingston. This also marked about the sixth time I have tried to explain River to my Mum. Another brother interjection: "well this is the first time I've actually believed in the viability of a Doctor/anyone relationship," followed by sad noises. It's gonna be Gene and Alex all over again isn't it?
- And The Doctor is running away. But does he even know what from?

Theories/Questions

1. Is River a Time Lord, or a human from Jack Harkness' time or a con woman or the Rani or Romana or something else entirely?
2. Is Amy realy pregnant and what is WITH Amy anyway. Someone's had her marked out for something but WHAT?
3. What is "silence falling?"
4. Who is that little girl?
5. Is Rory's time as a centurian important?
6. How does The Doctor die? Who kills him and what did River know?



Well. This series is suddenly Lost and also way scary and dark. I like it. I think :)

Rory is so adorable! I loved his awquardness when he broke the Apollo 11 model thing!

although I was a bit confused last week when Amy explained River to Rory. Hadn't he already known her from last series finale?
He didn't see River until she'd been with the Doctor for a while so he probably missed the whole diary thing and accepted her as the Doctor's friend, but didn't realise the 'wrong order' part.

And just thought I'd mention, I really enjoyed episode 3 as well :D

I think I loved it lol. I think I liked TEH and TBB from five better as openers but only because they were complete stories. Once we know all the details of this two parter it could well be two of my faves!

Haha I loved Rory breaking the model too and his dodgy save!

THIS EPISODE WAS SO AWESOME OMG *flails* I look forward to the day when this season gets out on DVD and I can get it and watch this epicness on the big screen *daydreams*

Anyway - I don't even know what to say. There's too much, I'd just end up making anotehr entry-like comment *laughs* But in short: lots of questions breaking my brain (especially combined with all the questions from ep 1, good god it's almost too much), River being a bamf (and how hot did she look with her hair all wet? very very I'd say ^^), Eleven being Eleven XD, Rory being the most adorable husband on tv right now (possibly ever), Amy wandering around doing her own thing (I agree with you, I like that she does her own thing and is independent. Even if it gets her into trouble sometimes, but that could happen to anyone, so yeah - keep on being awesome Amy! ^^ <3), Canton being a definite candidate for a future companion (can we please have him back someday santa Moff, please please please? *bats lashes and smiles sweetly*), and er, lots else. XD

God though, the Silents, on the ceiling, just, THANKS A LOT MOFF FOR MAKING THEM EVEN SCARIER >.<

Wasn't it kind of funny when River shot that last Silent though? I mean, bamf and awesome and all, but, just, yeah. XD Whoever's idea it was to have it do that move, the actor or teh director or what, I greatly appreciate it, it brought a bit of unexpected humour to it, to the shooting/killing of the Silents. ^^

Also, you wanted River spinning around with the gun icons, yeah? Well, if I'm not completely wrong, llorona_llorona have some. I'll see where else I got mine, if I got them from somewhere else, but definitely some from there. :)

Oh, and just a heads up, concidering how epic the next ep looks (4th that is) I'll probably throw any attempts of being spoiler-conciderate regarding tags out the window, so you might just want to scroll past my entry for DW next week and not even glance at the tags. This weeks are still alright though (I'm having too much fun making up new tags, I think by next week, it'll be twice as many as it has for 6x01 and 6x02 - meaning a lot *phew*).
I know I might be worrying a bit too much about my tags being spoilery, but I'm not taking any chances since last year when I used a gif cake!Doctor and got told off for it being spoilery :/

I like entry like comments- they make me feel like I've written something interesting lol. I loved Canton and OMG RIVER IS SO BAMF. IT'S LIKE EACH TIME SHE REAPPEARS SHE GETS MORE AND MORE BAMF.

The Silents truly terrify me in a way dr who hasn't done in a long time.

I was thinking when they were going up the stairs how I would have scarpered already. The blood on the wall, the writing in the guy's wrist, just the fact that it's a creepy derelict old building really... Clearly I'm not cut out for life as one of the Doctor's companions. (Although, a fic is now beckoning to be written about a companion who isn't as brave as all the rest, and who can't handle what they see when with the Doctor...)

I did cry. Again, picturing myself in her situation, somewhere alone in the dark, with no idea if she'll ever see Rory (and the others) again. I get panick attacks quite easily and so I know that if something like this were to happen to me (or something like the blood on the wall, or any of the stuff we see in Spooks as well like Jo and the Redbacks - I'd probably do what she did in asking that of Adam - or Ros and Yallta) the fight-or-flight instinct would kick in and I'd definitely be flying. And if I couldn't get away for whatever reason, I'd go into full-out panic-mode, and I'd probably literally go insane in fear.

Now there's a cheery thought for you! =P

I don't know why I don't have your faith. I've never shipped Amy/Doctor, I've always hated the scene where Amy comes on to him in her room, River/Doctor is my DW OTP and I adore Rory/Amy. So why the heck did I suspect she was talking about the Doctor?!?!?!?!? I think it was the "I know everyone thinks it's him, but it's really you" line, because you wouldn't expect her to be saying "it's really you" about her husband, especially since that kind of line is usually used to reveal affairs/etc. in tv/film.

I'd marvel at the strength of your sheer willpower but I saw this scene last week so I don't think I can give you all the credit. (Unless your will power is so strong that it manages to fight through time as well?)

3. What is "silence falling?"
I'm as baffled as you are on all your questions, but this one in particular confuses me. I know Moff has said that the mystery of the Silence will be revealed, but I don't think those creatures were it (or if they were, not the whole thing). Firstly, the voice in the TARDIS that said "Silence will fall" didn't sound anything like the creatures we heard. Secondly, that phrase doesn't make sense if we take the creatures to be the "Silence" mentioned (and I'm sure I've seen their name spelt as "the Silents").

I trust that all will eventually be explained though =)

I can't take horror at all which is why I was terrified but just wow. Those silent's really, really creeped me out. In regards to flight or fight I think I would be the same as you. I would do whatever it takes to get out. Not everyone can be the hero I suppose.

I really, really don't ship Amy/Doctor due to River/Doctor and just I could never see it ever working. I don't have faith so much as a lot of persistant hope. I really want Rory/Amy to work out just coz I am so tired of every single companion in new who falling in love with The Doctor (which is why Donna gets brownie companion points). Maybe the story is trying to become Amy/Doctor but I refuse to believe it or acknowledge it till it actually happens because I really, really don't like the idea of it.

The aliens are def. called The Silent's but they do say something about Amy bringing about The Silence when they have her captive. I read a really interesting theory where Silence falling is caused by The Silent's in revenge for eps 6.1 and 2 and series five's events are therefore caused by The Silent's.

I thought you might, but I want to stay positive and not be convinced that their's is a tragedy. I know it is, because we've seen what happens in the Library, but that's not the point.

Hmmm probably The Silents. Depends on wether or not one alien is a "silent" or a "silents" coz if its plural technically there should be an apostrophe. But then this is Dr Who after all. Screw grammatically correct aliens. They are listed in the episode credits though if you can be bothered to check :P Also, the BBC website might have them listed on the dr who section?

I think my mind won't handle any of the possible storylines anyway- I think it's gonna be a case of "this is where things get complicated..." for the next two series, at least still Eleven regenerates.

"Not all the time" to (probably mis-)quote Amy. I hope they leave that as it is - it was such a heartbreaking scene, but I thought it was superb. And River will have to die one day - I think it is a very poignant death for her to be given.

I'll look it up re the Silents/Silent's. =)
