Meme Stealing
Jan. 1st, 2010 11:16 pmI stole this meme from amethystdragon who stole it in turn from BrendanPodger. If you want me to answer the questions about you just ask and I will do, coz I love doing this sort of thing to be honest :)
"If you respond to this, I will:
1. Tell you why I befriended you.
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
6. Tell you my favourite user pic of yours. (after some searching on my part)

Date: 2010-01-03 09:29 pm (UTC)1. You were on the JS community and posted at my LJ and anyone who likes JS is a friend of mine :)
2. lol I associate you with JS and The Master
3. I like that you blog similarly to me ie reviewing boooks and films and having discussions about things :)
4. My memory of you would be the time that we started off talking about Agatha Christie in one of my entries and then somehow veered completely off topic onto The Master, in an epic discussion which lasted for 28 replies :P
5. Do you like fantasy novels and if so which ones?
6. The one you have now is sheer hilariousness... WIN (ok I admit I'm jealous... why can't I be Lucy :P)
and ps: I heard The End of Time 1 and 2 was shit :( It still hasn't aired here but my friend in England said it was decidedly underwhelming :(

Date: 2010-01-04 07:19 pm (UTC)2. I thought so! :))
3. Well, I hardly ever write about personal things... I prefer to discuss about my fandoms and things related with John Simm in particular :)
4. But... but... I never participated in any discussions concerning Agatha Christe ;) Hmmm... ;)
5. I like both science-fiction & fantasy (books, movies, tv series, art).
When I was much younger I was a huge fan of Xanth series by Piers Anthony. Now I find it a bit silly. I also like The Chronicles of Narnia & Ravenloft series (dark fantasy with vampires, werewolves, etc).
Would you like to recommend something good to read? :)
6. Lucy was the luckiest woman in the universe... ;) But she didn't appreciate it...
When are you going to watch The End of Time? Some people didn't like it, but many did. I liked it :)

Date: 2010-01-05 12:39 am (UTC)I'm watching TEOT when the frigging ABC decides to frigging air it!!!! ANGER lol.
Good fantasy... lol Amethystdragon and BrendanPodger would agree with Katharine Kerr's Deverry saga I think. Isobelle Carmody is good as is Philip Pullman's Northern Lights. I also liked Melanie Rawn's Dragon Prince Saga

Date: 2010-01-05 03:02 am (UTC)LJ user brendanpodger has given me many reading suggestions and he has yet to steer me wrong. My favourite suggestion he has given me is Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising series. He had me actually start off with the second book in the series which hooked me like you wouldn't believe. Utterly, utterly fantastic! This series is considered a child's fantasy series, but you know, after reading it myself (and I'm 35) I can honestly say that truly it is written for all ages to enjoy.
